Internal mode control based coordinated controller for brushless doubly fed induction generator in wind turbines during fault conditions

Brushless double fed induction generator (BDFIG) based machines have gained popularity in wind turbine applications because of their easily accessible design. Low voltage ride through (LVRT) is critical for the reliable integration renewable energy with power grid. The refore, LVRT capability brushless DFIGs makes them an attractive choice maintaining stability existing works on BDFIG control suffer from two major drawbacks. Firstly, methodology does not consider as a design metric, and secondly, these techniques do any means coordinating between machine side inverter (MSI) grid (GSI). This results sub-optimal controller eventually result violation code requirements. To solve issues, this paper proposes use turbines using technique analytical modeling. Moreover, employing internal model (IMC), proposed can effectively coordinate MSI GSI resulting reduced oscillations, overshoots improved under fault conditions. Furthermore, simulation generators show that scheme significantly improves compliance codes ascompared to hardware techniques.
